Assumption.

I smile but I'm not smiling.

I laugh but I'm not laughing.

I tell myself not to bother and not to care, yet I still religiously check my phone every three minutes for replies. And make calls if it's been half an hour.

People should stop assuming that a smiley face necessarily means that someone is pleased.

For one thing, I know that the next smiley I type isn't genuine. :)
